Bordeaux Wine Festival - La Fête du Vin
This year the wine festival will be held 24th-27th June 2010 and will be the 8th year running that this event will be held. For four days Bordeaux celebrates what it does best with a four day festival in celebration of wine. The event includes a parade of Bacchus floats, wine tastings (les degustations), tours of vineyards and wine barrel races, not to mention plenty of great food and drink. Learn more about the art of wine growing by taking part in workshops. The celebrations come to an end with a spectacular riverside fireworks display.

Circuit International Des Remparts -Angoulême
2010 will be the 71st year that the Circuit de remparts is held in Angoulême and will take place the 17th,18th and 19th September. The event attracts vintage and classic car enthusiasts from around the globe. Whether you are a passionate car afficienado or just a 4 door hatchback kind of person. You can’t help but be enchanted by some of the finest vehicles ever built. There are races around the Remparts (the ancients walls of the old town). Car parks are full of vintage Citroens, Rolls Royces and many many more. The whole town comes alive.

Chalais Jumping
Every year at the beginning of August Chalais is host to an International Show Jumping event. This takes the form of of a competition for all ages and levels. The professionals down to the amateurs. The French take their horses very seriously and there can be up to 200 horses competing. It is open to everyone to spectate and entrance is free of charge. The whole weekend is a grand social event for equestrians and pedestrians alike. It culminates on the Sunday night with the final jump off and a banquet.

Local fetes and events
The French love an excuse to party and the Summer is just that excuse. Villages spend all the dark nights of Winter preparing for fetes in the Summer months with an open invitation to all. A full timetable will be provided to all our guests. There are also night markets (le marché nocturne) where you can buy cheese, bread, patés, wines and join the locals for an evening repas.
